History of the Building In 1959, Dr. Joe Justik, Dr. Jack Young & Dr. Pat Gaudet conceived the idea of constructing a health centre in the Old Strathcona area and in 1960 Strathcona Health Centre became a reality. The demand for medical office space increased and in 1970, an expansion was added to the east side of the building. Old Strathcona boast a variety of entertainment, shopping, hotel, and restaurant experiences in Edmonton and is a designated Provincial Historical District. The area features, live music, local theatre companies, and hosts The Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival (the largest in North America). |

Present Day Currently, Strathcona Health Centre is home to a variety of professional health care providers, including an award winning pharmacy, a large family practice group with an affiliation to the primary care network, as well as specialists in orthopaedic surgery, podiatry, physical therapy, massage therapy, dentistry and diagnostic imaging. Laser therapy & esthetics and a medical recruitment agency round out the tenants in the building.
